When you think German Shepherd, the first thing that must come to mind is brave, loyal pup who would do anything to serve, and protect their owners. Shepherds are a fearless, high energy and intelligent breed that will stop at nothing to fulfill the wishes of their owners.
One thing is for certain. Shepherds and Shelters don’t mix. Just ask Riona, a 3-year-old loving, sweet German Sheperd pup who was heartlessly surrendered by her owner to the Carson Animal Shelter, in Gardena, California. Riona’s owner surrendered providing no logical reason and briskly walked away as she openly wept, wondering why she couldn’t go with him. Sad indeed.
Carson, a facility known for its high kill rate, is not a place where hope and love abound to say and write the least.
Dogs are given just a few weeks, and sometimes even just days to find forever families before the shelter is forced to make tough decisions which include euthanasia.
A Pet Harbor listing Riona reads,
“My name is RIONA and I’m an approximately 3-year-old female German Shepherd. Please take the time to help me before it’s too late.”
Fidonation, if you or someone you know is interested in giving this precious pup the forever home she rightfully deserves, please contact the Los Angeles County Animal Control Carson at 310-523-9566.
Additionally, please share this story on Facebook or Twitter so we are closer to finding Riona a home. We have done it before, and can certainly do it again.
