For a 2-year-old chihuahua pup named Jiminy Cricket, life inside the Carson Animal Shelter in Gardena, California, is no cakewalk to say and write the least. Carson, a shelter notorious for its high kill rate, is known to emotionally grind down the poor dogs and cats who inhabit the place.

Jiminy, who is overcoming the stunning betrayal from an owner he gave two years of nothing but loyalty and devotion, is wondering what on earth he did to deserve such a fate. The stakes are high for Jiminy and it is no wonder why he is terrified. That’s because, at Carson, dogs and cats are given just a few weeks and sometimes even just days to find forever families before the unthinkable happens: euthanasia.

A Petharbor listing for Jiminy reads,

“I am described as a male, brown Chihuahua – Smooth Coated. The shelter thinks I am about 2 years and 6 months old.”

Fidonation, Jiminy doesn’t have to live like this anymore if we have our say. If you or someone you know is interested in giving this precious pup the forever family he rightfully deserves, please contact the Los Angeles County Animal Control – Carson at (310) 523-9566 and reference the shelter ID #A5051038.

Additionally, please share this story on Facebook or Twitter, so we are closer to finding Jiminy a home. We have done it before, and can certainly do it again.
