The first thing that comes to mind when you meet Foxie, the adorable 5-year-old Chihuahua filled with energy, is love. Foxie loves everyone she meets and loves getting that same love back when you greet her.
And so it is quite confusing to think why her owner could surrender a sweet, loving and kind pup to of all places the Carson Animal Shelter in Gardena, California. The pressure has gotten to the tiny pup, and understandably so. According to my source at the shelter, the young pup could be heard quietly crying herself to sleep every night, wishing that her life might take a turn in a more positive direction. Sad indeed.
Carson, a shelter with a notoriously high kill rate, is not the place one would pin their hopes and dreams to say and write the least. Dogs and cats trapped inside the facility are given weeks, and sometimes even just days to find forever families before the unthinkable happens: euthanasia.
Foxie is treated no different. A shelter favorite since she arrived at the end of July, procedures, and protocol must commence when valuable kennel space is at stake. That means that if poor Foxie doesn’t find a home, and soon, she will, unfortunately, be “humanely euthanized” as Carson likes to put it.
Fidonation, if you or someone you know is interested in giving this precious pup the forever home she rightfully deserves, please contact the Carson Animal Shelter at 310-523-9566.
Additionally, please share this story on Facebook or Twitter so we are closer to finding Foxie a forever home. We have done it before, and can certainly do it again.
