Ruby is trying so hard to remain positive, but shelter life has taken its toll on her emotionally. The once happy go lucky pup, who just a few weeks ago was living a good life, was mercilessly surrendered to the Carson Animal Shelter in Gardena, California, by a heartless owner who didn’t want to take on the responsibility of caring for her anymore.
Carson, a shelter known for its notoriously high kill rate, is grappling with overcrowding, as resources, and “valuable kennel space” continue to dwindle to new lows. In order to free up resources, the shelter has to result to euthanasia, sad news for hopeless animals trapped in the facility desperately begging to get out and resume a life that once was.
A Petharbor listing for Ruby reads,
“My name is Ruby and I am described as a female, black and brown Rottweiler. The shelter thinks I am about 2 years and 6 months old.”
Fidonation, a cold concrete slab is no place for an innocent, precious young pup to spend her days, crying for a second chance she certainly deserves. If you or someone you know is interested in giving Ruby a forever family, please contact the Los Angeles County Animal Control – Carson at (310) 523-9566, and reference the shelter ID #A5048960.
Additionally, please share this story on Facebook or Twitter so we are closer to finding Ruby a home. We have done it before and can certainly do it again.
